In an exclusive interview with Middle East Eye, Phyllis Bennis, a fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies, provides insight into the interim ruling of the International Court of Justice regarding the Israel-Gaza conflict. Bennis emphasizes the importance of civil society’s actions in advocating for a ceasefire, highlighting the need for international pressure to address the ongoing crisis.

The International Court of Justice’s ruling that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza “by itself is not going to change things, certainly not on the ground,” Phyllis Bennis told the Middle East Eye. “What it is doing is changing the basis on which we mobilize opposition and mobilize a global movement against that genocide.”
