Wisdom, Analysis and Inspiration from Seasoned Organizers

May 18, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join the Sojourner Truth School for Social Change Leadership as we celebrate one year of teaching free movement-building classes for over 1000 activists in the Pioneer Valley. We’ll be hosting a panel discussion with four experienced, radical activist/organizers from Western Mass to Washington, D.C.:

  • Jo Comerford, National campaign director of MoveOn.org
  • Netfa Freeman, Events coordinator and analyst for the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C., and an organizer for Pan-African Community Action
  • Jennifer Matias, Leadership coach, consultant, and trainer, Dance the Dream Coaching and Consulting for Social Justice and Social Change
  • Nelson Roman, Executive director of Nueva Esperanza, Inc., Holyoke Ward 2 City Councilor, activist and organizer

With an opening song by Marcia Gomes – Just Keep Climbing Music

Q&A to follow. Ask our panelists…
~ Where should we be directing our energy now?
~ What movement-building strategies are most effective long-term?
~ How do you find hope in these dark times?
~ What fuels and sustains your activism?
and more…
