Town Hall Meeting: Egypt on the Brink

February 2, 2011 @ 9:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Egyptians demonstratingEgypt is the most important strategic Arab ally for the United States. However, events in Tunisia have started a domino effect in the Arab world. The legacy of U.S.-dominated governments across the region will never be the same and the U.S. empire’s reach in the resource-rich and strategically vital Middle East has been shaken to its core. But does this mean that Egyptians and Tunisians in the streets can end U.S. Empire in the Arab World once and for all? Join us for the latest updates with author, activist, Middle East expert and Institute for Policy Studies scholar Phyllis Bennis, as well as Busboys and Poets owner Andy Shallal for this timely townhall meeting.
