Panel: Student Organizing with Camila Vallejo and Noam Titelman

Since April 2011 Chile has been rocked with student protests culminating in a student strike. The students have been state subsidization of universities, demanding free public education, reforms to the secondary education, and many other reforms.
The Panel will include:
Camila Vallejo, the former president of the University of Chile Student Union. She has made news all over the world being listed in Time Magazine‘s 2012 list of “100 People Who Matter” and in Forbes Magazine’s “150 Fearless Women.” She has been involved in organizing for the Chilean Student movement and protests.
Noam Titelman, who is currently a spokesperson for The Confederation of Chilean Students, which is a national coalition of Chilean student unions. Noam has also been involved with organizing the Chilean student movement.
Caiden Jay Elmer, who is a sophomore at American University who has had experience organizing with both UNITE HERE Local 23 and student organizations. He is currently serving as one of three spokespersons for the CAUS which is fighting for a tuition freeze at American University.
