Bringing the Global to the Local: Resisting Wars at Home and Abroad

May 25, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

U.S. militarism and Trump’s so-called “Foreign Policy” pose some of the greatest threats to international peace abroad. They also threaten us at home as the White House continues to target refugees, Muslims, immigrants, and other communities. Join IPS for an interactive panel and an artistic performance to challenge new escalations and resist longtime wars abroad.

Includes: John Feffer, Foreign Policy in Focus; Phyllis Bennis, New Internationalism Project; and Maha Hilal, Michael Ratner Middle East Fellow.

Co-moderators: IPS’s Michelle Munjanattu and Razan Azzarkani.

Themes will include the wars in Syria, Yemen and beyond; sanctuary cities, the Muslim Ban, recent military escalations, Trump nationalism and foreign policy.

Please RSVP. This is part of the Spring event series, IPS on the Offense: Big Visions for State and Local Power.
