DOMESTIC AWARDEES

This year’s domestic award will be shared by the Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU) and Rabbis for Ceasefire.

IMEU has played a huge role in changing the tide of public opinion on Palestine over the past 10 years by providing journalists with quick, reliable access to information about Palestine by Palestinians.

Rabbis for Ceasefire is an ad-hoc group of Rabbis across denominations organizing towards a ceasefire in Gaza and a just peace in Israel-Palestine.

INTERNATIONAL AWARDEE

Our international award recipient is the Concejo de Autoridades de 48 Cantones de Totonicapán. 48 Cantones convenes the ancestral community authorities of 48 groups of Maya K’iché’ people to defend democracy and increase access to opportunities for indigenous peoples in Guatemala.

We are currently accepting co-sponsors for this year’s awards. Our grassroots sponsors make it possible for us to support unsung visionary voices. LM Awardees have gone on to become progressive presidents in Brazil, Colombia, and Chile, win landmark unionization campaigns against corporate powers, and stand strong against multinational companies trying to displace Indigenous peoples from their lands. Together, all of our awardees help create the future we aspire to share.
