Trump is proposing an increase to import tariffs on Mexico. Considering that Mexico is the second largest importer of U.S. goods and services, experts warn retaliatory tariffs by Mexico on imported U.S. goods could be a major blow to U.S. businesses. Manuel Perez-Rocha, an associate fellow with the Institute for Policy Studies’ Global Economy Project, joined The Real News Network to discuss the implications of Trump’s proposal, including how it would impact U.S. citizens, and what it would mean for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (U.S.M.C.A.).
