Clara Summers

Clara Summers is currently a New Economy Maryland Fellow and works for Interfaith Power and Light as a member of the Episcopal Service Corps. Clara graduated in 2014 from the University of Washington, Seattle, cum laude with a double major in Eastern European Studies and Honors Anthropology, as well as a minor in Environmental Science. As the daughter of two Methodist pastors and a Quaker conservation biologist, Clara has always seen a strong connection between faith and justice. Her years in Indonesia as a child, combined with a study abroad program in Australia, have impressed upon her the reality and gravity of climate change. She is particularly interested in advocacy and has experience lobbying at both the state and national level.

Help IPS turn progressive policy ideas into action

Unlike many research organizations, we’re not bankrolled by big corporations or any part of the government. As an ally to people-powered movements, we have to be people-powered ourselves. When you make a one-time gift or a monthly donation, you help build the better future we all want.
