Tracy Bindel joined the Institute for Policy Studies in August 2014 as the Jamaica Plains Forum Coordinator. Originally from Carlsbad, New Mexico, Tracy Bindel studied at Wellesley College where she earned a BA in Anthropology and Peace Studies. Before joining IPS, she managed projects for non profits in Afghanistan and Uganda where she discovered her passion for strengthening coordination and improving systems. She cares deeply about human security and is dedicated to the long and slow work of peace building. Tracy joined the IPS-New England team because she appreciates using the frame of inequality to locate so many interrelated issues – from mass incarceration in America today to global climate change. Outside of work, she enjoys hosting dinner parties, writing snail mail, drinking craft coffee, and spending time in prayer and meditation.
