Virtual Book Event – Still Hopeful: Lessons from a Lifetime of Activism

April 20, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join the Institute for Policy Studies, Food and Water Watch, Greenpeace USA, Public Citizen, the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, and the Wallace Global Fund for a conversation with:

Maude Barlow, on the release of her new book: Still Hopeful: Lessons from Lifetime of Activism.

Canada produced one of this generation’s boldest and visionary movement leaders in Maude Barlow. Over successive decades, she emerged as a global leader for women’s rights, global justice and an end to corporate-led globalization, and the right to water.

In this timely book, she sums up lessons from those fights and why they give her realistic hope for the future. Her lifetime of fighting the good fight and often winning tangible results has led her to emphasize that effective activism is not only about the goal, but is also about building a movement and finding like-minded people to carry the load with you. Maude knows firsthand that change does happen and that hope is the essential ingredient.

Maude is the bestselling author of 20 books. She is councilor with the World Future Council and sits on the boards of Food and Water Watch, and the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature. She was a co-founder of the International Forum on Globalization, and served as a senior water advisor to the UN General Assembly. Maude is the recipient of the Right Livelihood Award.
