President Obama’s visit to Cuba is the first since U.S. President Calvin Coolidge landed in Havana in January of 1928.
At this time of changing U.S.-Cuba relations and a post Obama visit to Cuba, “THROUGH CUBAN EYES,” a panel featuring visitors straight from Cuba provides a unique opportunity for U.S. audiences to learn what’s really happening in Cuban society from a way that is not filtered through U.S. media.
This is part of the 2nd “Days of Action” against the U.S. blockade in Washington, DC.
Keynote speaker: Cuban Ambassador José Ramón Cabañas.
Invited Guests from Cuba:
- Cuban medical professionals who participated in the fight against Ebola in West Africa
- Luisa Campos, Director of the Havana Literacy Museum
- Jorgito Jerez, Journalism student, and
- A Representative of ICAP (the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People)
