SALSA Forum: Climate Change, Movement Building and You

March 18, 2009 @ 9:45 pm - 11:45 pm

People who care about the planet are demanding action from the United States on climate change.

At global climate talks last year governments of developing countries told the United States that if it is not going to lead it should get out of the way. What would leadership around domestic climate and energy policy look like? As citizens of the world, what do we need to do to uphold our international obligations? And what role should activists and advocates play in making sure any policy that comes out of the U.S. recognizes and embodies climate justice?

Janet Redman, co-director of the Sustainable Energy and Economy Network at IPS, will lead this forum on where the climate crisis came from, what solutions are currently on the table, and what action needs to be taken.
