Revolutionary Cuba in New Period of Rapprochement with The U.S.

June 25, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 5:50 pm

US-CUBA RELATIONSJoin us in a conversation about Revolutionary Cuba in the New Period of Rapprochement with the U.S.

On December 17, after 55 years of hostile relations, Cuban President Raul Castro and President Obama announced the beginning of a thawing of relations between the two countries. But this is just the beginning of a process and despite this step, the policy of the U.S. remains one of regime change when it comes to Cuba.

Did the U.S. suddenly go soft on Cuba? Is it possible that the normalization of relations between the U.S. could become a reality? If you have been wondering about these and other questions about Cuba come hear a presentation by Cuban solidarity activists who were organizers in the struggle to free the Cuban 5.

The meeting will include viewing a short film called, “On Our Own Terms.”

This meeting will take place in UDC’s Building 41, room A03, just before the IPS screening of “Hands Up Don’t Shoot Our Youth Movement,” that will take place in the same space.

Please let us know on Facebook if you’re coming.
