September 12 will mark 16 years of unjust imprisonment for the Cuban 5. Rene Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez are back in Cuba after serving their entire sentence in the United States, but Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino and Antonio Guerrero remains in U.S. Prisons. These 3 Cuban men are paying a high price for defending their country against terrorism. For their actions they deserve medals of honor, not 16 years of imprisonment. It is time for President Obama to negotiate with Cuba a humanitarian solution to this case and allow them to return to their loved ones. The Institute for Policy Studies joins with the International Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban 5 in this call for a rally in front of the the White House to call for an end to their now 16 years of cruel imprisonment. Also join us the following day, September 13, in DC for the public forum, An Evening of Solidarity With the Cuban 5.
