International Issues & Antiwar Forum Series: About Zimbabwe

April 2, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The United States isn’t just another country – it’s an Empire, with nearly 800 military bases in more than 70 countries and territories around the world. By contrast, Britain, France and Russia have about 30 foreign bases combined. There used to be a strong antiwar movement in the U.S. here that tirelessly educated the public about what the Pentagon was doing to our sisters and brothers around the world, and mobilized to stop the wars fought by the poor to benefit the wealthy few. Today that consciousness has eroded, allowing the Masters of War to carry out the most horrible atrocities without a protest being heard. What’s needed is a united movement that demands, “Stop the Wars at Home AND Abroad!” The first step is education.

The Virginia Defender invites you to this free forum, What Western Imperialism Is Up To In Zimbabwe, that is one in a series of several forums meant to help us all become better informed about what the Empire is doing in our name – and what we can do about it. This forum of the series features guest speaker Netfa Freeman, Analyst at Institute for Policy Studies and organizer for Pan-African Community Action (PACA).

Mark your calenders for the first Monday of the month, starting in March 2018.
