Future of U.S. Rail

February 3, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Future of RailThis symposium, co-sponsored by the IPS’ New Economy Working Group,  presents the case for US rail electrification and added higher class track for long-haul express (>80 mph) mixed freight and regional passenger service. Transforming the economics of rail transport is key to creating a sustainable transport infrastructure and weaning freight rail off its dependence on heavy fossil fuel commodities. Public investment in rail has the potential to strengthen the commons, protect the environment, ensure better labor conditions, and strengthen the renewable energy transmission infrastructure.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for rail transportation policy advocates and planners, rail electrification engineers, renewable energy engineers, railway construction professionals, rail vehicle engineers and electrical engineers, labor and sustainability activists to engage with the foremost specialists in the US. Be part of an historic technical conversation about the Future of Rail in the US and help launch part of a Solution whose time has come.

RSVP to reserve your spot TODAY.
