Governments around the world are facing complex and pressing issues related to attracting and governing sustainable foreign direct investment, including, in particular, with respect to the use and scope of international investment agreements (IIAs).
IPS Associate Fellow, Manuel Pérez-Rocha of our Global Economy project will offer his valuable perspective on the impacts of International Investment Agreements (IIAs) on the domestic laws and policies of state parties.
This discussion, hosted by the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI), will convene government officials, policy makers, civil society and academics to further probe these issues and help to advance the policy debate about the future of IIAs. This event is free and open to the public but advance registration is required.
At 1:00pm will be closing remarks and a reception, featuring Indonesian cuisine.
Registration is free but required. Get more information and register.
