The Failed States Index 2011 launch event is a joint event of the Fund for Peace and Business Executives for National Security. The Fund for Peace’s annual Failed States Index, now in its seventh edition, is a characterization of UN member countries by social, political, and economic assessments. The stated goal of the event is to focus attention on the challenge of weak, fragile and failed states and encourage discussion about appropriate responses by the U.S. and the international community.
