IPS Fellow and filmmaker Saul Landau will lead a discussion on the contemporary dynamics of Cuba, its relations with the United States, and its 60-year experiment with socialism. Landau has won an Emmy and has directed four films on Cuba, most recently: Will the Real Terrorist Stand Up,” a film that exposes the hypocrisy of U.S. policy toward Cuba around the Cuban 5 case. Gore Vidal referred to Landau as the “man I love to steal ideas from.” Landau has written 14 books and directed several dozen films. He joined IPS in 1972, and remains a Fellow and vice-chair of IPS’s board.
