Don’t miss this forum on the Great Lakes Region of Africa with Claude Gatebuke, a survivor of the Rwandan genocide and co-founder and Executive Director of the African Great Lakes Action Network (AGLAN) and Judi Rever, author of In Praise of Blood: The Crimes of the Rwandan Patriotic Front that takes an in depth look at Rwandan President Paul Kagame and U.S. cover for his killings in Rwanda and Congo.

The aim is to present an alternative narrative of what has unfolded in the Great Lakes Region of Africa over the past two decades with particular focus on Paul Kagame and The Rwandan government’s destructive role in the region with the complicity of the US government, western media and western elites. The points of focus will include the following:

  • US Foreign Policy in the Great Lakes Regions

  • Role of agents/allies of the West who happen to be from the region but greatly contributing to the loss of life and plundering of resources in the region
  • Particularly, what has been the role of US policy is supporting destructive local allies such as Paul Kagame
  • Role of Western media and Power Elites in supporting a distorted narrative of what has occurred in the region
  • Policy recommendations
