Three decades ago, conservative ideologues at The Heritage Foundation produced a primer on the Reagan Revolution entitled Mandate for Leadership, which offered an overarching philosophy against the role of government and in favor of markets. Now with the election of President Barack Obama, it’s our turn!

Chester Hartman, an IPS associate fellow and the founding Executive Director of the Poverty & Race Research Action Council, edited a set of essays for our book, Mandate for Change. Providing a strong rebuke to the Heritage Foundation, the volume offers specific progressive policy proposals for the Obama administration on every major domestic and international topic by leading thinkers and activists in the field.
