Nowhere to Be Home book coverVoice of Witness presents a talk and book signing with Maggie Lemere and Zoë West, editors of Nowhere to be Home: Narratives from Survivors of Burma’s Military Regime and Peter Orner, co-editor of Hope Deferred: Narratives of Zimbabwean Lives.

In Nowhere to Be Home the newest collection of oral histories from Voice of Witness, men and women from Burma describe how their lives have been deeply altered by the country’s military regime. You’re invited to join us when Maggie and Zoë will read from the book and discuss their experiences interviewing refugees, political prisoners, and many others for this powerful new book.

Hope DeferredHope Deferred features twenty-four striking accounts of life in Zimbabwe under a ZANU-PF dominated government. Harper’s Magazine has said, “Hope Deferred might be the most important publication to have come out of Zimbabwe in the past thirty years.” Editor Peter Orner will read from and answer audience questions about the book.
