Written and performed by the director of IPS’ Foriegn Policy In Focus project, Interrogation is making its Busboys & Poets debut.

“Provides an unsettling view of reality,” says The Washington Post. “Keeps you on the edge of your seat,” says DC Theatre Scene. “A deftly told dark comedy about a serious and timely subject that immerses the audience completely in its creative story,” says DC Metro Theater Arts. “Feffer is a brilliant writer and performer,” says the Washington City Paper.

Performance time: 60 minutes. Talk-back/discussion led by Marc Rotenberg, executive director, Electronic Privacy Information Center. Suggested donation at the door ($15).

“If surveillance was monaural during the Cold War and became stereophonic in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, it is now quadrophonic. It can’t be reduced to the activity of a single state or even a particular government-industrial complex. We are all now embedded in a veritable matrix of surveillance. It has become surround sound.” — from Participatory Totalitarianism.

John Feffer is Director of Institute for Policy StudiesForeign Policy In Focus project and was recently an Open Society Foundation Fellow, retracing his steps in Eastern Europe from 23 years ago. John is the author of several books, including the novel Foamers (Scribner, 1997). Check out more about his books, his articles, and his biography.
