A new report from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has revealed an alarming increase in white supremacist related incidents over the past year. The 120% surge is more than double the number of similar incidents recorded in the previous year.

While the ADL has historically been an important voice in the struggle for civil and human rights in the U.S., it hasn’t been as active lately in the fight against racism. Instead, they have focused more on promoting the Israeli government, and have accused critics of Israeli policy of being anti-Semitic.

Phyllis Bennis, director of the New Internationalism Project at the Institute for Policy Studies, joined The Real News Network to discuss the ADL, their history, and their pivot from an agenda of battling against white supremacy to one of building support for Israel.

The original interview and a full transcript are available at The Real News Network.
